On October 1st, we welcomed customers, partners, and experts to our Ab Ovo AI & Sustainability Customer Day at Hotel Arena in Amsterdam and it turned out to be a truly inspiring day. Check out the video at the bottom to get a taste of our event.
Together, we explored how AI and sustainability can reinforce each other and help shape the future of IT and supply‑chain solutions. The conversations were open, honest, and practical, with real use cases from industry and fresh insights from academia. The atmosphere was energetic and collaborative, and the discussions continued well beyond the presentations themselves.
What stood out most was a shared understanding: AI is here to support better decisions, not to replace human expertise.
Insights that stayed with us:
“Generative AI augments and enhances, it does not replace planning tools.”
“Generative models can be a good co‑pilot, but not a decision‑maker.”
“AI won’t replace you. Someone who uses AI might. Start building your foundation.”
These reflections sparked meaningful discussion and reminded us that technology creates real value only when combined with human judgment, experience, and responsibility.
Keynotes and Expert Perspectives
We were proud to host a strong group of speakers who brought different perspectives and practical experience to the table.
- Rodolfo Groenewoud van Vliet, Co‑founder of In4Art and CCO at Ab Ovo, opened the day with a thought‑provoking keynote on AI as a new phase in human evolution, encouraging us to rethink how we relate to intelligent systems.
- Prof. Dr. Ting Li from Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, showed how AI and Augmented Reality can improve decision‑making in complex environments.
In addition, we heard valuable contributions from: Paula Perez, Barbara Roos, Dieter Veldhuis, Nadeem Shakoor, Dr. Andrei Sleptchenko, Edwin Visser, Zoltán Zentai, and Willem Jan Groenewoud.
Each speaker added practical insight from their own domain, making the day both relevant and grounded.
We’re already looking ahead to the next edition.
